JUST IN: Fubara Move to Probe Wike’s Administration, Set up Panel of Inquiry

Rivers State Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara has promised to look into what the state administration has been up to for the last eight years.

During the swearing-in ceremony of Dagogo Iboroma, a Nigerian Senior Advocate, as the new Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Rivers State, Fubara made this statement.

Iboroma was vetted and confirmed earlier today to serve as the Commissioner nominee.

Fubara pleaded with Iboroma to set up an investigation panel as soon as possible to look into the state government’s activities during the previous eight years.

He accused his enemies of deliberately sabotaging his government and pointed fingers at them.

Though at first he hoped for a peaceful conclusion, he promised to act decisively, no matter what the consequences could be.

Governor Fubara responded to criticism from former Attorney General Zacchaeus Adangor (SAN) and his Ministry of Works colleague, Alabo George-Kelly, by accusing Adangor of using his legal strategies to hinder governmental business.

As for George-Kelly’s comments, the governor claimed that if it weren’t for his retirement, the latter would have had a higher position.

Governor Fubara narrated his professional trajectory, noting that he had attained Level 13 as Chief Account Officer before 2023 and credited divine providence for landing him in his current role as governor, regardless of any inconsistencies in the past.
