‘Notorious Cultist’ Nabbed With Pistol In Anambra

Thirty-two-year Amalu Onyedika, from Ezeagu in Enugu State, has been arrested while in possession of one locally made pistol and four live ammunition in Anambra.

He was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday at Nkwelle, Oyi LGA of Anambra State by police operatives acting on intelligence reports, police said.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the arrest to THE WHISTLER in Awka on Friday.

He said, “Onyedika claimed to be a technician who deals in aluminum and glass windows at Onitsha. He confessed to being a member of the junior Vikings secret cult.”

Onyedika, according to the PPRO, claimed he joined the notorious gang at the age of 22, adding that he had been mentioned “as one of those terrorizing Nkwelle and its environs.”
Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has directed that the investigation be widened to bring to book other gang members. He also directed that the case be charged to court after the investigation.
