Star Wars Fans Think They've Spotted A Clone Wars Favorite In The Acolyte BTS Video

Summary

  • Plo Koon could appear in The Acolyte due to his long lifespan in Legends, and fans may have already spotted him in a behind the scenes video.
  • Other Jedi from the Clone Wars could also appear in The Acolyte, expanding the potential character roster.
  • The show focuses on new characters but may still incorporate Jedi from the Clone Wars era, as many of them could have lived long enough to be in both eras.

The Acolyte takes place further in Star Wars‘ past than any live-action project to date, but it might still feature a beloved character from the Clone Wars. Based on the confirmed details about The Acolyte, it seemed that characters from other parts of Star Wars wouldn’t be able to appear in the show. Since The Acolyte is set in the High Republic era, it takes place a long time before Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace and most of the characters from the Skywalker saga. Despite this, there’s one character from the Clone Wars who may have already been seen in the upcoming Star Wars show.

As pointed out by Star Wars Holocron, there’s a Kel Dor Jedi in the background of one shot from a behind-the-scenes video of The Acolyte, and the most notable Kel Dor in Star Wars was Jedi Master Plo Koon.

While it’s not confirmed that Plo Koon is in The Acolyte, it is very possible that he could appear. The Acolyte is set 100 years before The Phantom Menace, in 132 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin). Plo Koon doesn’t have a canon age, but in Star Wars Legends, he was 382 years old when he died, meaning he could easily have been alive in 132 BBY. Legends is no longer considered canon, but since showrunner Leslye Headland has said she’s drawn on the Expanded Universe for The Acolyte before, she may have chosen to include Plo Koon in the show.

Plo Koon May Not Be The Only Clone Wars Jedi To Return

Plo Koon would certainly be an exciting addition to The Acolyte‘s cast, but he’s not the only Clone Wars-era Jedi who could appear in the show. Jedi who were especially attuned to the Force, like Plo Koon, lived longer than normal members of their species. Even humans could live to ages well past 100 years old with help from the Force. That means that any number of Jedi in the Clone Wars could have also been active in the Order during The Acolyte.

Aside from the generally long life of Jedi, there were also several Jedi during the Clone Wars who simply lived longer than 100 years by virtue of their biology. Yoda was one of the oldest Jedi in the Order, as he lived to be 900 years old, but it isn’t confirmed that Yoda will be in The Acolyte. There were even some Jedi from The Phantom Menace‘s Jedi Council that also served on the Council in the High Republic era, like Oppo Rancisis and Yarael Poof. Jedi of these species are even more likely to appear in The Acolyte.

While several Clone Wars-era Jedi could appear in The Acolyte, that doesn’t necessarily mean they will. Everything that has been revealed about The Acolyte thus far has only focused on new characters, and it seems the show will be trying to tell its own story without relying on previously-established characters. Even Plo Koon may not appear in the show, as the behind the scenes image could simply be depicting a different Kel Dor Jedi. Still, that also doesn’t preclude Jedi from the Clone Wars from appearing in The Acolyte, and if they do, they would be more than welcome additions.
