2 drown inside well water in Osun
Two men working at a construction site in Ile-Ife, Osun state, have reportedly drown inside a well water.
It was gathered that the incident happened Thursday around 1:09 pm, opposite Ilesa motor park, Ile-Ife.
Blueprint gathered that the deceased came with their boss from Iwo to work on the building project where the incident happened.
Findings showed that the deceased was fetching water out of a deep well and accidentally fell into the well thus causing the incident.
“One of the workmen in an attempt to retrieve the fetcher entered the deep well but unfortunately got trapped and drowned.
“An attempt at rescue made by the second workmen got him drowned inside the deep well as well,” an eyewitness said.
The spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Adeleke Kehinde, confirmed the incident.
She said the personnel of NSCDC from Ife Central Division were alerted when the incident happened and the corpses were rescued through the joint efforts of NSCDC and Federal Fire Service.
