A trailer for a new Mark Wahlberg action movie has been released, and I can never unsee Wahlberg’s bald look now. Despite appearing in all kinds of movies, Mark Wahlberg tends to have a pretty consistent look to him, with him occasionally growing out his facial hair. However, one upcoming Mark Wahlberg film has changed as aspect of him like never before, and I was shocked to see his new bald look.

The first trailer for Mark Wahlberg’s Flight Risk is out now, with it giving a first look at the exciting new aerial thriller film. Flight Risk follows an FBI agent who is tasked with flying an informant to a court in order for him to testify against the mob, but while on the plane, they discover that their pilot is a hitman who was sent to kill the informant. The upcoming film comes from director and actor Mel Gibson, with Michelle Dockery and Topher Grace starring alongside Mark Wahlberg.

Bald Mark Wahlberg In Flight Risk Is A Very Striking Image

It’s Definitely A First

I was excited to hear that the first trailer for Flight Risk was out, but I was met with an unexpected surprise when I saw Mark Wahlberg’s new look for the film. Although the actor initially looks like he normally does, during the course of the trailer he takes his hat off, revealing that he is bald. Mark Wahlberg tends to have a really good head of hair, so it was pretty striking to see him with his new bald look.

It hasn’t yet been explained if there is an in-universe reason as to why Mark Wahlberg is bald in Flight Risk. However, since the actor isn’t bald in real life, it is clear that it was a conscious decision to change his hairstyle for Flight Risk. It’s possible that Mel Gibson believes that the bald look adds something to the film, and I’m curious to hear what that is.

Mark Wahlberg’s Bald Look Works For Flight Risk’s Big Twist

It Makes Sense When You Think About It

Although Mark Wahlberg’s bald look is shocking at first, it actually works for Flight Risk‘s big twist. For the first part of the trailer, Mark Wahlberg seems to be an everyday pilot, with the actor using a new Southern accent. However, it is soon revealed that this persona is entirely a ruse, with him actually being a hitman.

In Flight Risk, Mark Wahlberg’s character uses the little hair he has as well as a hat for a disguise, with his appearance completely changing upon the removal of the hat. This hairstyle makes sense for the character, as he is a hitman who most likely wants to be unrecognizable. So, while it still is strange to see Mark Wahlberg with a bald head, I’m starting to understand why this choice was made for Flight Risk.
