Sons of Anarchy: Every SAMCRO Member Who Survived The Show

Summary

  • Sons of Anarchy’s SAMCRO saw its members decrease over time, with only a few survivors by the series’ end.
  • Characters like Chibs, Tig, Happy, T.O. Cross, Rane Quinn, and Ratboy endured in a dangerous world.
  • The series’ violent universe showcased intelligence, toughness, and survival skills in its remaining characters.

Sons of Anarchy saw the deaths of many characters from both the title club and others, and in the end, only a couple of members of SAMCRO, like Chibs, were still alive. Over the course of seven seasons, Sons of Anarchy gave the audience a taste of the drama, betrayals, and more that happen among motorcycle clubs (in that universe, at least), and by the end of the series, the club was entirely different from the one introduced in season 1. It was a dangerous world with reckless characters, many of whom met violent ends.

From the gang killing their former leader Clay to Opie being beaten to death in front of his friends to Jax dying in Sons of Anarchy‘s series finale, the ensemble of the series continued to shrink over time until there were only a few remaining characters left standing. Some of these characters exemplified the intelligence and toughness that kept them alive, others surprisingly managed to escape one deadly scenario after another, and others were smaller supporting characters who were left unscathed. For any of them, to survive Sons of Anarchy is a true feat.

Sons Of Anarchy Cast & Character Guide

Motorcycle drama Sons of Anarchy is about violent criminals, but the characters are made complex and even lovable thanks to the show’s talented cast.

Chibs Telford

Played By Tommy Flanagan

Chibs in a garage in Sons of Anarchy

Chibs is a member of the club who had a wild life even before becoming part of SAMCRO. The Scottish-born biker served as a medic in the British army before joining the IRA and subsequently having a falling out with them. He was a key member of the club throughout, being a much-needed voice of reason in many instances. He always tried to avoid violence whenever possible and served almost as a father figure to some of the younger members of the club.

In the end, when Jax chose to kill himself, Chibs was named as the next president of the club. It was a wise choice as a man of Chibs’ disposition could be the one to lead SAMCRO out of the cycle of violence they have found themselves in. Chibs is one of several SoA characters to appear in the spinoff Mayans M.C. In his one-episode appearance, Chibs is shown to still be leading the club and maintaining a semblance of peace.

Jax Teller

Bobby Munson

Tig

Played By Kim Coates

Tig looks annoyed in Sons Of Anarchy

Tig is perhaps the most surprising character to make it to the end of Sons of Anarchy. Though all the members of SAMCRO are violent in their own way, Tig always stood out as the loose cannon of the group. He was initially loyal to Clay, operating as his assassin whenever necessary, and he would never hesitate in pulling the trigger. He also had a confrontational relationship with Jax with it often feeling like that could lead to his death.

Tig went through a lot of pain in the series, including having his daughter brutally murdered in front of him. However, despite sometimes being on a destructive path, he was alive at the end of the series. In fact, Tig gets one of the happiest endings in the series ashe embraces his romance with Venus Van Dam, seeming to find love while also being named Vice President of the club. He appears once in Mayans M.C., showing both his violent and sensitive sides as he reminisces about his daughter and Jax.

Happy Lowman

Played By David Labrava

Happy was introduced into the series as a member of the Nomad Charter who was later patched in as a member of the SAMCRO club. He immediately proved himself a valuable member of the group with his penchant for violence making him a perfect person to act as the enforcer. Though he was a strong silent type of character, his passion for his club as well as his enjoyment of the more dangerous aspects of their lives was clear.

Happy was always more of a supporting character in the series, but he gained more and more prominence in the story and in the club as time went on. Despite being at the center of so much of the show’s violence, Happy escaped the series still breathing. His stoicism fades as he cries when saying goodbye to Jax at the end of the series. Happy appears in several seasons of Mayans M.C., showing that he is still a big part of the club. However, after surviving Sons of Anarchy, he is killed in Mayans M.C. by the main character EZ.

T.O. Cross

Played By Michael Beach

T.O. Cross may have only been made a member of SAMCRO in the final season of the series but it still makes him one of the few surviving members of the club in the end. When introduced on the show in season 3, Cross was President of the Grim Bastards Motorcycle Club. He became a recurring character throughout the series with his club helping out SAMCRO during various situations while also butting heads with them at times.

With his own club falling apart, Cross takes the offer from Jax to become patched in as a member of SAMCRO. This is a significant moment for the club as it requires Jax to eliminate a standing rule in the club that they do not let in any Black members. While he doesn’t get a lot of time in the series, T.O. made history in the club nonetheless.

Rane Quinn

Played By Rusty Coones

Rusty Coones, who plays Rane Quinn, is actually one of several real-life Hells Angels to appear in Sons of Anarchy. Despite those impressive credentials, Rane was not a big part of the show. He is introduced in season 2 of the series as another member of the Nomad Charter. After a time, he is invited to join SAMCRO with Bobby being the one to introduce him. He is finally officially patched in season 7 of the series.

The last time Rane is seen in Sons of Anarchy, he joins his fellow members of the club in voting that Jax meet Mr. Mayhem, leading to his death. However, Rane is another one of the Sons of Anarchy characters who appears various times on Mayans M.C. Though not much more is revealed about his character, he does appear in the final episode of the spin-off as he is confronted and threatened by Alvarez only to choose not to kill his former ally when the opportunity presents itself.

Ratboy Skogstrom

Played By Niko Nicotera

Ratboy is the final character to be patched in as part of SAMCRO on the series, in same episode as Rane’s patching in. Ratboy is one of the prospects on Sons of Anarchy for quite some time and it is known that these characters do not often last long. Some of the young recruits ended up being killed while others simply left the club when things got too dangerous.

Jax commends Ratboy for sticking it out as a hard worker, an intelligent soldier, and someone who knows when to shut up. After being patched in during season 6 of the show, he is included as one of the members who votes on Jax’s ultimate fate in the final season of Sons of Anarchy. Like the others, he is shown to be sad at losing Jax as a leader.
