TY Danjuma, Fintiri, Ombugadu for Gongola Forum’s excellence award

In what is described as reward for excellence and selfless service to humanity, the Gongola People’s Forum, a conglomeration of ethnic nationalities from Adamawa, Taraba, Plateau, Nasarawa and other states is set to honour some of their illustrious sons and political office holders elected in 2023, for their credible performance.

Addressing a press conference Thursday in Yola ahead of the celebration coming up this Saturday, the national president of the forum, Engr. Markus Gundiri said the event which is the first of its kind is aimed at celebrating excellence in service delivery.

He further noted that the event, which will bring people within and outside Adamawa and Taraba together, will also chart a way forward for their people with the view to sharing common ideas that would improve the socio-economic and political lives of their people and their collective interest.

According to him, this move will not only unite their people to speak with one voice but would also encourage others, especially those in positions of authority to put in their best for their people knowing full well that their efforts will not be in vein.

Some of those to be honoured at the event include LT. Gen T Y Danjuma (rtd), Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, his deputy, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, Hon. David Ombugadu, and Prof. Jerry Gana among many others who have distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavours.

Gundiri further clarified that the forum is a non political, religious organisation with common interest to improve the wellbeing of their people.

The event is expected to be chaired by Gen. TY Danjuma (rtd) as special guest of honour, Prof. Jerry Gana as guest speaker while Hon. David Ombugadu will serve as guest of honour among many other personalities expected to grace the occasion.
