We Built 62 New Secondary Schools, 2,326 Classrooms For Primary Schools – Gov Sani
Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, said on Monday that within 365 days in office, his administration built and commissioned 62 secondary schools as well as 2,326 classrooms in primary schools across the state.
Sani also disclosed that the state government would soon constitute the membership of the state Security Trust Fund recently established in the state to tackle insecurity.
The WHISTLER reports that the governor recently passed the Kaduna State Security Trust Fund Bill into Law, aimed at tackling insecurity in the state.
The governor emphasised that his administration would continue to work closely with religious leaders towards promoting “peaceful coexistence, enhance inter-religious understanding and effectively implement our administration’s Rural.”
He said in order to ensure peace and stability across the state, his administration reinvigorated steps toward tackle with insecurity in the state with “the distribution 150 operational vehicles and 500 motorcycles to security forces and the Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KADVS).”
“I have signed the Kaduna State Security Trust Fund Bill into Law. This is aimed at securing sustainable funding for combating banditry and terrorism through the engagement of the private sector. It will guarantee more resources for training, equipping and enabling of our security forces, while we continue to strengthen collaboration and intelligence gathering. We are in the process of constituting the membership of the Trust Fund,” he added.
Sani stated this when he met religious leaders from across the 23 Local Government Areas to the state at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House, Kaduna, the state capital on Monday.
The governor thanked the religious leaders for their invaluable advice and support to his administration since inception.
He also told them how his administration had made modest progress in areas of security, infrastructure development, education, agriculture, health, housing, poverty alleviation, youth and women empowerment.
This was even as he added that in just one year in office, his administration had performed the groundbreaking of 54 roads across Kaduna State, totaling 679.5km.
“Some of the roads have been completed and commissioned, while others are nearing completion, he said.
Besides, governor Sani added that a total of 62 secondary schools were built and commissioned in the first phase of the administration’s educational revitalization drive while saying too that “we have also built additional 2,326 classrooms in primary schools across Kaduna State.”
In the health sector, the governor said the state government devoted N71,647,821,975.33 or 15.63% to the sector while noting that state -of – the – art medical equipment were distributed to the 290 upgraded Primary Healthcare Centers across the state.
“Our achievements in the healthcare sector are as follows: Reconstruction and renovation of six (6) secondary health facilities in Kaduna; General Hospital Ikara, General Hospital Giwa, General Hospital Kafanchan, General Hospital Maigana, General Hospital Rigasa, and General Hospital.
“Operationalization of ultra-modern Mobile Medical Trucks to provide integrated health services to remote and underserved communities.
“We commissioned the Women and Children Center for Vulnerable Women and Children to facilitate access to a range of services, including medical, legal, psychosocial, and counselling support.
“Our administration has built and commissioned a 48 – Room Hostel Block at the Kaduna State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Kafanchan Campus,” the governor added.
