New On Paramount: All 84 Movies & TV Shows Arriving In July

Paramount+ has plenty of new TV shows and movies coming in July 2024, including docuseries and family favorites. Paramount+ launched in March 2021 as a rebranding of the CBS All Access streaming platform, with the goal of expanding its offerings and reach. Thanks to the re-merger between CBS and Viacom in 2019, Paramount+ also has access to Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, and MTV libraries. That usually means that library content is more exciting for subscribers than new content because they can binge existing series.

Unlike some of its competitors, Paramount+ has not put an emphasis on original movie programming except in the case of children’s films. However, the streaming service does have a popular lineup of exclusive original series, including the multiple-timeline and decade-spanning Yellowstone franchise. In July 2024, however, the biggest content for the streamer continued to be series originally available from CBS like Criminal Minds, Blue Bloods, and NCIS. A Quiet Place and its sequel also proved popular as fans anticipated the arrival of the prequel movie in theaters.

Charlie’s Angels (2000) – July 1

The 1976 television series is often dismissed by modern audiences as camp. The 2000 movie understood that the story of three very different women from very different backgrounds solving impossible mysteries could be both campy and empowering. It leaned into the camp in an entertaining way, complete with numerous costume changes and accents, hand-to-hand combat featuring plenty of wirework, and a villain twist that was both hilarious and diabolical.

Starring Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu, and Cameron Diaz, Charlie’s Angels proved that something one generation saw as cheesy could be updated for the modern day in a unique way. The 2019 movie might not have landed as well as this one, but with Charlie’s Angels joining Paramount+ in July, fans can revisit is and the sequel.

Grease (1978) – July 1

No movie has told the story of a good girl falling for a bad boy better than Grease. The musical, inspired by the stage show, follows Sandy, a teenager from Australia, who ends up going to an American high school for her senior year. Sandy discovers the boy she met over the summer is at the same school, but he’s very different than she remembers.

Full of fantastic dance sequences and catchy songs, Grease is a classic musical that spawned a sequel and various stage adaptations of the movie version. Fans of the movie have debated for decades whether Sandy should have got her makeover in the end – or if Sandy even lived through the movie. Paramount+ even developed a prequel series, but Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies was canceled after the first season. That series, sadly, is no longer available to stream on Paramount+ alongside Grease.

Star Trek Movies – July 1

Paramount+ is the official home for Star Trek. At least, that’s been the perception since it was CBS All Access and launched with Star Trek: Discovery. While the streamer has had various Star Trek series available to stream since its launch, now, it’s got all of the classic movies available to stream as well.

Thanks to the addition of the movies, fans of the franchise can have a nearly complete on-screen look. The original series and movies are already on Paramount+, so the addition of nine more Star Trek movies, primarily from The Next Generation era, fills in the storyline in between the various series. As a bonus, there’s also a director’s cut of Star Trek: The Motion Picture, which is sure to please the Trekkies who just want more Star Trek from Paramount+ in the wake of the streamer beginning to cancel all of its new series.

The Baby-Sitters Club (1995) – July 1

The Baby-Sitters Club is a beloved series of novels aimed at young women that began publishing in the 1980s. HBO adapted the novels into a television series in the early 1990s that then reran on the Disney Channel. Netflix also adapted the novels into a modern series that ran for two seasons. This, however, is not a series.

Instead, this version of the BSC is a ‘90s movie. It’s very much a product of its time, from the lack of cell phones to the fashions and the soundtrack. Starring Rachel Leigh Cook and Schuyler Fisk, the movie didn’t seek to adapt specific novels from the series, but instead, crafted a tale of a group of teens organizing their own summer day camp for the kids they babysit. It’s fun, family-friendly, and a snapshot of a very different time.

Beavis and Butt-Head Classic (1993) – July 10

Parents of teens didn’t care for Beavis and Butt-Head in the ‘90s, but the series, which brought more adult humor into animation, is loved by a wide audience today. The notorious slackers have a love for heavy metal and a general apathy for just about anything else. That’s part of what makes them so entertaining.

Paramount+ is already home to a reboot of the Beavis and Butt-Head animated series. It has also slowly been adding seasons of the original series to the platform. In July, episodes of seasons 2, 4, 5, and 6 are joining the streaming, giving fans a lot more episodes to enjoy. Two animated movies centered around the characters are also already available on the platform.

Spongebob Squarepants (1999) – July 10

Spongebob Squarepants is quickly becoming one of the longest-running animated series of all time. Though new seasons aren’t produced at the rate of The Simpsons, the show has plenty of material that both kids and adults have been enjoying on Nickelodeon for 25 years. The first 12 seasons of the animated series as well as several movies are already available on Paramount+ Season 13 of the show joins on July 10.

Like the rest of the series, season 13 is comprised of episodes that are made of two shorter stories. The season includes such gems such as Spongebob and Patrick mistaking a burglar for the Tooth Fairy, Spongebob and Plankton making a delivery to Monster Island, and Spongebob trying to get his trusty spatula repaired.

Additional content is available to those Paramount+ subscribers who have the Showtime add-on as well. Television shows from Paramount-owned networks continue airing new episodes in July. Once they do, new episodes of the shows will also be available to stream on Paramount+ the day after they air, making July 2024 an even busier month than June for the streamer. Paramount also adds live sporting and news coverage regularly. The content available depends on the playing schedules.

Charlie’s Angels (2000)

Charlie’s Angels is the first movie in the Charlie’s Angels franchise that began in 1976. The film was released in 2000 and starred Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Lucy Liu as the titular “Charlie’s Angels.” The film received a sequel in 2003 titled Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle. Charlie’s Angels was a box office success and received mixed to positive reviews upon release.

Beavis and Butt-Head

Beavis and Butt-Head originally appeared in an MTV short film called Frog Baseball before the characters got their own series on the network in 1993. The original series ran for seven seasons until 1997 and got an eighth season in 2011. Paramount+ would later revive the series for their streaming service in 2022. Mike Judge’s characters have also gotten two movies; Beavis and Butt-Head Do America in 1996, and Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe in 2022.
