The first images from What We Do In The Shadows season 6 feature returning cast members as the 11-episode finale approaches. The Emmy-nominated series’ finale is coming this October, ending the comedic reign of the beloved Staten Island vampires. Starring Harvey Guillén (Guillermo), Kayvan Novak (Nandor), Matt Berry (Laszlo), Natasia Demetriou (Nadja), Mark Proksch (Colin Robinson), and Kristen Schaal (The Guide), the spinoff series — originating from the 2014 film of the same name — has earned over twenty Emmy nominations and one win for costumes.

The first image is of Nadja at Guillermo’s place of work, giving her the best impression of a person who works a regular 9 to 5 job. The second is the five main characters at the mansion after Laszlo has hypnotized them all to think that he’s the king of the house, waiting on him to order them around. The final image is of Nandor and Colin Robinson, with the latter trying to literally create a friend.

The finale of season 5 saw the repercussions of Guillermo’s turn as a vampire, a lifelong dream of his and a development that’s been teased since the beginning. After Nandor finds out he’s been turned by another vampire, Guillermo spends some time in exile, away from his vampire family, but is quickly found by them. Guillermo receives a call from Nandor, who says he’s at the house of Guillermo’s mother, a ruse designed to reel him in. The What We Do In The Shadows characters reconcile, and Nandor gives Guillermo the opportunity to become a real vampire.

Guillermo ultimately doesn’t have the cold heart needed to kill and eventually chooses life as a human. What We Do In The Shadows season 6 will follow Guillermo’s decision and how it affects the rest of his found family. As teased in the EW article, Guillermo tries his hand at a normal 9 to 5 job, where Nadja visits him and acts like a normal human being with her skewed, undoubtedly flawed, understanding of humans. The showrunner Paul Simms teases that Nandor goes missing and causes trouble, forcing the vampires to fetch him before he creates “more problems for the vampire establishment.”
