10 Untold Star Wars Stories I'm Absolutely Desperate To See

Star Wars hasn’t confirmed that any of these stories are going to be told on screen, but I sincerely hope they are. Star Wars movies and TV shows have expanded considerably in recent years. Not only has the Star Wars timeline been extended into new eras on screen, but also, the original, prequel, and sequel trilogies of the Skywalker Saga have all been fleshed out further by the franchise’s recent TV shows.

However, with many of Star Wars’ best TV shows, there have come incredible opportunities to deepen these stories even further. In fact, many of Star Wars’ best characters from the movies have been featured in recent shows, adding to their stories and setting up fascinating possible futures for them. Of all the potential stories available, these 10 are those I’m most hoping to see.

10 Omega’s Role In The Rebellion

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Concluded With A Shocking Update

Star Wars: The Bad Batch was an incredible Star Wars show from the very beginning, and, impressively, it even stuck the landing (which isn’t always easy to do). In fact, this is perhaps one of few happy endings in the franchise, as Clone Force 99 had a true conclusion, with most of them living their lives together into old age. However, the Bad Batch season 3 ending also included the shocking twist that an older Omega was headed off to join the Rebellion.

Star Wars hasn’t confirmed that Omega’s story will actually be continued in the franchise, but I am very hopeful that some upcoming show or movie will reveal more about Omega’s Rebel role. This would also be an incredible continuation of the clones’ stories. Although the Clone Wars arc is over, Omega can carry on the legacy of the clones into the next era, which I really hope to see on screen.

9 Yoda’s Participation In The Acolyte Cover-Up

It Seems Yoda Helped Vernestra Rwoh… But Did He?

The Acolyte was full of twists and turns, but perhaps one of the most surprising took place in the finale, which ended with a cameo by Master Yoda. Most of the show had featured entirely new characters (with a brief appearance from Ki-Adi-Mundi), so this moment represented a significant departure, but it also had massive implications for the High Republic Era, the prequel trilogy era, and Master Yoda himself. Specifically, Vernestra Rwoh seems to have sought Master Yoda’s help in covering up the events of The Acolyte.

However, the finale didn’t confirm this; it just heavily implied it. I am really hoping that Star Wars eventually circles back on this, perhaps in a season 2 of The Acolyte (which isn’t yet confirmed). If Yoda was involved in this cover-up, it reflects significantly upon his character and suggests he may not have been as surprised about the Sith returning in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace as the other Jedi were.

8 The Jedi’s Withdrawal From The Galaxy (And Qui-Gon’s Opposition)

The Jedi Abandoned Their Posts Across The Galaxy

In the book Star Wars: The Living Force by John Jackson Miller, the Jedi’s decision to withdraw from their posts across the galaxy is unpacked, as is Qui-Gon Jinn’s opinion of it. Specifically, Qui-Gon is disgruntled to see the Jedi retreating in upon themselves, as he feels the galaxy is being left defenseless without the Jedi stationed on various planets. He also seems to be correct, at least in part, given that much of the book also includes pirates who are terrorizing galactic citizens no longer protected by the Jedi.

In some ways, this decision to retreat from the galaxy marks the beginning of the end for the Jedi, as it signals that they are taking more self-serving precautions. Eventually, this snowballs into effectively working as soldiers for the Republic Senate during the Clone Wars. Because of the importance of this event, and the interesting nuance it introduces to the Jedi story, it would be wonderful to see it finally play out on screen.

7 Qimir & Osha’s Romance

The Acolyte Finale Suggested There’s More To Qimir & Osha Than Being Master & Apprentice

The Acolyte faced considerable backlash, but many viewers were nevertheless captivated by the relationship that was clearly blooming between dark side Force-user (and possible Sith) Qimir and ex-Jedi Osha. In The Acolyte episode 5, this began as only a hint of romance on Qimir’s part. After all, when he encountered Osha unconscious in the woods of Khofar, he draped his cape over her like a blanket—an oddly intimate behavior for someone who had just murdered multiple Jedi.

However, episode 6 saw this blown wide open, with Qimir taking a dip in front of Osha without his clothes on and quite literally attempting to seduce her. The Acolyte finale then confirmed there could be much more to this story, as Qimir and Osha were seen holding hands on the Unknown Planet after she agreed to train with him. I am desperate to find out if there really is a romantic bond between the two, which could be revealed in a potential second season of the show.

6 The End Of Captain Rex’s Story

Rex Has Appeared Several Times Since Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Captain Rex quickly became a fan-favorite character in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and his story has continued in beautiful ways following that show’s conclusion. After loyally fighting beside Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano and leading his men in The Clone Wars, Rex re-appeared in Star Wars Rebels, The Bad Batch, and even Ahsoka, in live-action for the first time. These updates have proven that Rex remained dedicated to the Jedi and true peace in the galaxy, even during the Imperial Era.

However, it still isn’t clear how Rex’s story ends. As the clones in The Bad Batch received a true happy ending, it would be wonderful to see this for Rex, who has certainly earned it. I’m hopeful that Star Wars will eventually show the end of his story on screen, ideally with Ahsoka and Rex reuniting one last time first.

5 Luke & Leia Learning About Their Mother

Padmé Was So Important To The Galaxy, But It’s Unclear Whether The Twins Knew This

One of the most devastating aspects of Padmé’s tragic demise in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith is that she never got to raise her twins. It’s clear that Padmé would have been a wonderful mother, and the pain of her death is only multiplied given it also meant the loss of her motherhood and her connection to her children. However, the fact that it’s unclear whether Luke and Leia truly know about their mother’s legacy makes this so much worse.

Padmé didn’t only marry Anakin and give birth to Luke and Leia. She also served as Queen of Naboo at just 14 years old, including during an attack on her people, and she represented Naboo in the Senate for years, always advocating for peace and equality for the galaxy. Luke and Leia would be incredibly proud of all their mother accomplished and no doubt feel a connection to her if they knew more about her. I’m truly hoping that, eventually, Star Wars reveals on screen that they did know about their mother.

4 Vader Trying To Resurrect Padmé

The Comics Confirmed That Vader Tried To Bring Padmé Back To Life

In the canon Star Wars comics, Darth Vader does attempt to resurrect Padmé, which makes considerable sense. Although he got it all wrong, Anakin first fell to the dark side because he was so worried about keeping Padmé alive. Surely, he would not have lost this obsession after she died—even if he had been responsible for her death. However, Vader’s desire to bring Padmé back to life has yet to be shown on screen.

Because Padmé’s death was so swift in Revenge of the Sith and her presence has rarely been felt in the shows and movies that have followed, it would be wonderful for the story of Darth Vader trying to bring Padmé back to life to be shown on screen. In part, this could show Anakin’s guilt even as he was Darth Vader; even the dark side couldn’t have truly robbed him of this grief and guilt. Of course, this could also mean the return of Natalie Portman in some form, which would be exciting in and of itself.

3 Luke Training Padawans In His Jedi Temple

Luke Has Yet To Be Seen As A True Jedi Master

Audiences were largely displeased with the sequel trilogy’s choices for Luke Skywalker, as he went from the height of his hope and power in Return of the Jedi to a hermit in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. While this was disappointing from a characterization standpoint, it also sadly meant that Luke Skywalker hasn’t truly been shown as a Jedi master on screen. Although The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett showed glimpses of Luke between the original and sequel trilogies, these were fleeting cameos and did not show his true role.

In fact, little has been shown of his Jedi Temple at all, other than images of it burning in the sequel trilogy and the beginnings of it as Luke started to train Grogu (who ultimately walked away from the Jedi path). I remain hopeful that this story could still be told, though. While it could require a Luke Skywalker recast, which would no doubt be controversial, it would be thrilling to see what Luke’s Temple really looked like.

2 Obi-Wan Training With Qui-Gon’s Force Ghost

Star Wars Has Made It Clear Obi-Wan Trained With Qui-Gon’s Force Ghost But Hasn’t Shown It

Star Wars has revealed several times that Obi-Wan Kenobi ultimately reconnected with his former master, Qui-Gon Jinn, when he was on Tatooine. In fact, as Qui-Gon was a Force ghost then, presumably, this is precisely how Obi-Wan learned to become a Force ghost. The loss of Qui-Gon Jinn was a major moment in Obi-Wan’s life, and he never truly lost his sentimentality about Qui-Gon. Surely, both this significance and the fascinating skills required to become a Force ghost would make this compelling on screen.

However, the actual training has never been shown. In Revenge of the Sith, Yoda referenced this training before he and Obi-Wan parted ways, and in Obi-Wan Kenobi, Obi-Wan finally saw Qui-Gon Jinn’s Force ghost face-to-face. Unfortunately, Obi-Wan Kenobi cut off as soon as Qui-Gon was shown. Nevertheless, I’m holding out hope that, eventually, Star Wars might finally reveal what this training involved.

1 Rey Actually Grieving Ben Solo

Ben Solo’s Death Was Much Too Sudden

Ben Solo’s death was a major surprise in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and it was also quite disappointing. Kylo Ren had been a very compelling character, and it was intriguing to see him take such a turn. Moreover, as Ben was the last Skywalker in the bloodline, it seemed as though he would be the titular Skywalker, suggesting his redemption. While Ben was redeemed, though, it ended with his very sudden death. Even worse, Rey seemed to have recovered from this loss by her next scene, as she embraced the other Resistance fighters and celebrated their win.

I am hopeful that Rey’s upcoming Star Wars movie will see Rey at least grieving Ben more openly and, perhaps, even honoring his memory in some way in her new Jedi Order. After all, Ben Solo gave his life to save her. This may even be the most likely of these 10 Star Wars stories I’m hoping to see, as this next movie is the perfect time for it.
