Tragedy struck on Saturday night as unknown gunmen killed the President General (PG)of Umucheke Okwe autonomous community, in Onuimo Local Government Area of Imo State, Hyginus Ohazurike and Six other community leaders.
They were killed during a weekly meeting at the shop of Ohazurike.
In a viral video seen my our Reporter, the assailants also burnt the corpse of the community leaders.
Confirming the incident, the Imo State Police Command Spokesperson, Henry Okoye said: “This is very unfortunate.
“The Command is saddened by this tragic incident.
“Investigation is ongoing to unravel the miscreants responsible for this dastardly act and make them face the full wrath of the law.
