The Fantastic Four: First Steps may have just revealed a key location for the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie as the Phase 6 movie gets closer to its release. Marvel’s First Family is getting closer to finally getting their debut in the MCU timeline after years of the reboot being in development. While a handful of plot details have been revealed for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, another major clue may have been discovered thanks to a couple of explorers.
While The Fantastic Four: First Steps has wrapped principal photography, some of the sets have clearly not been taken down yet, as The Daily Mail released new photos, as well as a video, of an unknown underground set that was completely abandoned after filming was finished. The photos also include maps from production, which was under the name “Blue Moon,” giving a deeper look at this set piece at the Middleton mine in the Derbyshire Dales.

What The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Set Video Mean For The Reboot
While time will tell if Marvel Studios is taking down that set from The Fantastic Four: First Steps sooner rather than later, it wouldn’t be shocking if the reports floating around about it increase the pace of that happening. Whether or not this will be a crucial element of The Fantastic Four: First Steps story remains to be seen. However, the discovery of it could be teasing a classic Fantastic Four villain to be making their MCU debut in the 2025 installment.
Even though it hasn’t been announced, The Fantastic Four: First Steps underground set could suggest that Harvey Rupert Elder, a.k.a. Mole Man, is showing up in the film in some capacity. While Galactus will reportedly be the main villain of the story, that doesn’t mean the Phase 6 movie couldn’t feature other Fantastic Four villains in supporting roles. Given there are a handful of actors who have joined the reboot in mystery roles, there is always the possibility that one of them is portraying Mole Man.
Our Take On The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Set Video
Based on what was seen in The Fantastic Four: First Steps set photos and video, it wouldn’t be shocking if this is indeed a tease of Mole Man in the MCU, as this could easily be his lair for the movie. Time will tell how long fans will have to wait to learn whether or not Mole Man is actually in the movie, or if this location is meant to be setting up something else in the film. Hopefully, whenever the first The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer is released, the underground set will be one of the elements that gets highlighted in the footage.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is the first MCU movie to feature Marvel’s First Family in the same live-action universe as the Avengers. It introduces the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s version of Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Ben Grimm, and Johnny Storm, and precedes Phase 6’s Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
