Ahead of the yuletide periods, the Western Security Network, code named Amotekun has said nothing less than 1,200 men and officers of the corps were deployed to maintain security with collaboration of other security agencies in Ondo state.
Stating this in Akure, Commander of the Corps in the state, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, said a joint border patrol between sisters states like Osun and other south western states of the corps has been put in place to curtail breach of security before,
during and after the festive period.
The Amotekun boss noted that the corps 24/7 patrol round nooks and crannies of the state was another security measure put in place to ensure there is peace and ensure people with crime intentions in and around the state are checkmated.
While parading 22 suspected criminals arrested at various points across the 18 local government areas of the state for offences ranging from kidnapping, house burglary and thefts, theft of public properties and other related crimes, he stated that they would be prosecuted.
Adeleye urged citizens to verify who they accommodate, especially at this yuletide period, adding that buying second-hand items needed to be done with serious caution and precautionary measures.
