Cowboy Bebop Star Launches Crowdfund After Losing Home in L.A. Fire

The California wildfires have disrupted the lives of thousands, and unfortunately, Cowboy Bebop star Melissa Fahn is now counted among those who’ve lost everything. Fans are banding together, however, to help Fahn get back on her feet with a GoFundMe campaign.

Melissa Fahn is a long-time voice actor, most famously known for voicing the young hacker Edward on Cowboy Bebop. Fahn has contributed her voice to countless other characters as well, including anime characters like Naruto’s daughter Himawari in Boruto or Rika Nonaka in Digimon Tamers, and Western animation characters like Gaz Membrane of Invader ZIM. Her career is nothing short of amazing, having earned her fans all over. Now, those fans have a chance to repay her by assisting Fahn as she struggles to come back after her home was destroyed in the fires outside Los Angeles.

The GoFundMe Has Already Reached over $30,000

According to the information posted on GoFundMe, which was set up by an apparent colleague, Paul Wong, Melissa Fahn and her family have lost their home to the wildfires that have been ravaging the area around L.A. for some time now. It acknowledges that while no amount of money can bring back what’s been destroyed, the funds will be used to help Fahn and her family in the intermediate steps as they attempt to get their life back together.

Fans have rallied in support of Fahn, with the fundraiser having reached $32,795 in under a week, as of the time of writing. While the goal is currently set at $35,000, those who wish to support the GoFundMe campaign are encouraged to provide whatever they can spare, as there’s no predicting how long it will take for the voice actress to get back on her feet. Dealing with insurance after a natural disaster like this can be an extremely difficult and lengthy process, and most people are left in the lurch as they await the funds they’re entitled to, while being unable to conduct their lives (and jobs) as usual.

The California wildfires have been incredibly devastating, and Fahn is far from the only noteworthy person to have lost her home. For many people who have been affected, most of the wealth they’ve accumulated was represented by their homes, which they no longer have, putting them in a serious bind. And, of course, some have been unfortunate enough to lose their lives in the fire, with 25 victims now known. Conditions have continued to be conducive to the spread of the fire as firefighting crews struggle to hold off the flames, with no way to know how long this blaze will burn.

Fans of Melissa Fahn’s work who want to show their support can do so here. Having brought smiles to many with her performances over the years, now is the time to repay her for all the entertainment she’s provided throughout her career. Ed was an essential part of Cowboy Bebop‘s crew, and Melissa Fahn’s performance helped bring this eccentric character to life like no other could.
