Star Wars' Darth Vader Replacement Proves How Dangerous He Really Is: Skeleton Crew Episode 7's 14 Easter Eggs & References Explained

As the kids of The Onyx Cinder finally return home to At Attin, the race is on between them and the band of pirates seeking to claim the planet’s fabled treasure. To that end, several nods and connections to the greater Star Wars universe are made, including a dark parallel to Darth Vader himself in Revenge of the Sith.

As was seen in Skeleton Crew episode 6, Jude Law’s Jod was apprehended by his old pirate crew on Skull Ridge Mountain after betraying the kids. However, he did manage to convince the crew not to kill him until he could prove that he had found the location of Tak Rennod’s legendary treasure. Meanwhile, the kids themselves successfully recovered The Onyx Cinder and are finally on their way back home to At Attin. With that in mind, here are the biggest Easter eggs and references to be found in Skeleton Crew episode 7 as the two groups clash.

“We’re Gonna Be In So Much Trouble”

  • “I Have A Bad…”- Neel’s mom almost says the classic Star Wars “Bad Feeling” line before she’s stunned by At Attin’s security droids.
  • Kids Playing Grav-Ball – Aboard Onyx Cinder, the kids are shown playing grav-ball, a classic Star Wars game played by children across the galaxy, most notably Corellia and Lothal.
  • “Doesn’t Look Like A Treasure Planet To Me” – Brutus refers to At Attin as a “treasure planet”, further cementing the parallels to the classic Disney animated film of the same name.
  • An Endless Storm – The endless storm over At Attin brings to mind other planets like Kamino or the tempest planet that was once the homeworld of Marchion Ro, leader of the Nihil marauders during the High Republic Era.
  • A Familiar Snub Fighter – Multiple pirate snub fighters are featured, having first appeared in The Mandalorian Season 3, another connection beyond Vane.
  • Ravager One Call-Sign – This may be a connection to the Ravagers, a pirate gang from Legends located on the planet Rishi who first debuted in Star Wars: The Old Republic: Shadow of Revan.
  • Jod and Brutus Arguing – Jod and Brutus arguing about the crew feels very much like Jack Sparrow and Barbossa bickering about the captaincy of the Black Pearl, especially in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.
  • Satellite Defense Grid in Action – With a similar operation having been seen decommissioned around At Achrann, the satellite defense grid turned on mirrors the weather-manipulating satellites used by the Empire during Palpatine’s Operation Cinder.
  • Jod Threatens Kids With A Blue Lightsaber – This very much mirrors Anakin’s attack on the Jedi Temple during Order 66, specifically when he corners the younglings.
  • At Attin Mirrors Several Notable Star Wars Worlds – At Attin is revealed to be an artificial box system, where the planet is located within a space anomaly with only one way in or out, mirroring other box system planets like Kessel, Lasan, and Palpatine’s secret Sith world of Exegol.
  • The Voice of The Supervisor – At Attin’s Supervisor is voiced by actor Stephen Fry, which feels like a good sign The Supervisor will be shown on-screen in Skeleton Crew’s finale.
  • Rennod’s Treasure Deep Within The Planet – The Old Republic Mint and vaults located within At Attins’s depths mirror Flint’s trove in Disney’s Treasure Planet, which served as the planet’s core.
  • “We hoped you would be pleased…” – The conversation between Jod and the droids when he’s pretending to be an emissary mirrors the exchange between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Kamino’s Prime Minister Lama Su.
  • 1,139 Vaults Can’t Be A Coincidence – 1,139 is one more than 1,138, as in George Lucas’ 1971 sci-fi movie THX-1138, which has been referenced multiple times in the Star Wars galaxy.
