Foundation Distributes Ramadan Packages To Over 190,000 Families

The Near Foundation, a humanitarian organization, has provided Ramadan relief packages to over 190,000 families across 21 states in Nigeria during the holy month of Ramadan.

The General Secretary of the foundation, Mr Halil Ibrahim Ince, who spoke in Abuja on Wednesday, said a total of 38,100 food packages, each weighing 10.5 kg, were distributed.

Ince also added that the packages contained essential food items such as rice, spaghetti, beans, macaroni, salt, semovita, and garri, aimed at providing relief to vulnerable families.

โ€œWe are proud of the impact we were able to make this year. The packages were distributed across 21 states, reaching over 190,000 families,โ€ Ince said.

He continued: โ€œThe foundation extended its outreach to various communities and vulnerable groups. Among the beneficiaries were: 500 packages distributed at the Area 1 Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp in Abuja.

โ€œAt the Karonmajigi Community of People Living with Disabilities, we distributed 300 packages; and 300 packages were also distributed in Tsafe, Zamfara community.

โ€œWe equally handed over 500 packages with the support of the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities to the needy. Also, 400 packages were distributed alongside the SSA on Humanitarian Affairs.

โ€œ350 packages were delivered to the Mpape community; 100 packages were given to inmates at Kuje Prison; and
200 packages were distributed in partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

โ€œThe Near Foundationโ€™s efforts are part of its ongoing commitment to supporting underprivileged communities during the Ramadan season and beyondโ€™โ€™.

Ince also expressed gratitude to God for the successful distribution of the packages, noting that the foundation remains dedicated to its humanitarian mission.
