While most of the events of The White Lotus season 3 take place at the luxurious Thailand resort, Rick has spent the last few episodes in Bangkok. Even though Rick came to Thailand with his girlfriend Chelsea, they have hardly spent any time together. According to Chelsea, she and Rick are soulmates, but the two White Lotus season 3 characters couldn’t be any different. While Chelsea is very bubbly and positive, Rick is constantly pouting and incredibly negative.
However, this may change after the events of The White Lotus season 3, episode 7, which sees Rick finally meet the man who supposedly murdered his father. Instead of killing Jim Hollinger, a wealthy Thailand businessman, Rick simply kicks his chair over at the end of The White Lotus season 3, episode 7. While this is somewhat anticlimactic, Rick finally smiles at the end of the episode. However, while all this is happening, Rick fails to answer any of Chelsea’s phone calls.
Rick Doesn’t Want Chelsea Worrying About Him While He Slips Into Risky Behavior
Rick’s Actions Are Unpredictable In The White Lotus Season 3
Throughout The White Lotus season 3, Chelsea has been constantly worried about Rick. Ever since he finally admitted why they really came to Thailand before he left for Bangkok, Chelsea has been convinced that Rick was going to do something very dumb. It seemed like her concerns were going to be proven true, as Rick brought a gun to his meeting with Jim. However, he ultimately doesn’t use the gun and has seemingly now found the peace that he has been looking for.
Even though he will return to her in the season finale, Rick doesn’t necessarily want to explain himself to Chelsea while he’s still in Bangkok.
After his meeting with Jim, Rick decides to party with Frank. The two of them go to a club and even bring girls back to the hotel room. Even though Rick is sitting alone while Frank parties with the girls, he still does not answer Chelsea’s phone call. In season 3, episode 6, Rick admitted that Chelsea worrying about him was annoying, as he doesn’t want to explain what he is partaking in. Therefore, even though he will return to her in the season finale, Rick doesn’t necessarily want to explain himself to Chelsea while he’s still in Bangkok.

Rick & Chelsea Might Not End Up Together
Given his smile at the end of The White Lotus season 3, episode 7, it seems like Rick has found the closure that he has needed his entire life. However, it’s undeniable that he has treated Chelsea very poorly during their vacation. Therefore, there’s a chance that Chelsea will leave Rick in the season 3 finale. To be fair, Chelsea also missed a call from Rick while she was partying on the boat, but it is clear that Rick has been a significantly worse partner.

Therefore, while Rick has finally found some much-needed peace, I think it’s likely that Chelsea will leave him by the end of The White Lotus season 3.
